Cooler Xtreme : Coolers : Cpu Cooler : Global Win FNP-50

Global Win FNP-50

This heat sink is what looks like the baby brother of the FOP-38. All that differs from the FNP-50 and the FOP-38 is that the FNP-50 has got the sides chopped off, then just take away a loud delta fan and add a smaller and quieter delta fan and you have got the FNP-50 Cooler.
The FNP-50 that I received came with a high quality delta fan that can deliver 16.2CFM spinning at 6400 RPM. The fan measures in at only 50mm x 50mm x 10mm. This isn't any regular delta fan it is a very quite version, putting out only 36Dba of sound when the original delta fan put out over 46Dba of high pitched squeal.
The fan didn't come with a finger guard which was quite disappointing. As the blades of this fan are so small they are easily snapped off. Which makes the fan pretty much useless as re-glueing the fan blades back on would create the fan to vibrate just a tiny bit but could destroy your CPU. Finger guards are also great for stopping small wires from getting caught up in the fan blades forcing the fan to stop which will create all sorts of problems for your CPU and your computer.
The heatsink is made from Anodized Aluminum Alloy 6063 It measures in at 61.8mm x 50mm x41mm. This unit has 20 fins and are made up from the exact same layout as the FOP-38. The bottom of the heatsink was perfectly flat and came with a heat-transfer pad. (Which we removed and replaced with thermal paste)
The Clipping mechanism was the same basic ones that comes with most heatsinks. It is pretty easy to install. It just takes some patients and some skills.
The GlobalWin FNP-50 Heatsink and Fan is a great performing unit for its size. The demands of keeping the CPU cool are met. This unit is almost performing up with the FOP38 and at the price that is only $26 AUD how can you go wrong?
With all its features like a compact size. High performance fan and large heatsink fin area and a quiet delta fan and even a hardware monitor wire from the fan reporting the rpm the fan is spinning at. You can't really go wrong with this heatsink.
The Bottom line. While this cooler is not the best performing model, it is a good unit that performs quite well and isn't too expensive.
