STMicroelectronics
is now putting forth a 256 Kbit EEPROM memory IC with a three chip select
in a TSSOP8 package. The two-wire gadget includes an I2C serial interface,
supports 400kHz protocol and operates over a 1.8V to 3.6V power supply range.
STM says the non-volatile M24256 is suited for the telecommunications market
and that its TSSOP8 package can save space in mobile applications that need
high-density EEPROM in the smallest possible package. The little devil offers
a minimum data retention of 40 years and has a guaranteed read/write endurance
of at least 1 million cycles.
